Structural Engineer

Structural Engineer

As a Structural Engineer, you design, analyze, and deliver the carbon-fibre body, chassis, and occupant cell. You balance stiffness, strength, weight, manufacturability, and regulations—then lead the build so the model on screen becomes a race-ready shell in Australia.

Composites Design & Body Integration

From laminate schedules to moulds and assembly.

Highlights

  • Carbon fibre chassis & occupant cell
  • Laminate design, FEA & validation
  • Moulds, layup, cure, and QA
What you willl do
  • Design and optimize structural parts (chassis, occupant cell, body panels) with clear targets for mass, stiffness, and safety.
  • Own laminate schedules, core selections, joints, and inserts; document manufacturing drawings and work instructions.
  • Create mould designs and tooling; plan layup, cure, trimming, and bonding processes with DFM/DFA in mind.
  • Run structural simulations (e.g., linear/non-linear FEA, buckling) and correlate with tests to validate margins.
  • Lead body production and assembly; coordinate shop flow, consumables, and quality checks (coupon tests, NDI where applicable).
  • Integrate mechanical and electrical interfaces (hardpoints, pass-throughs, mounting) to ensure clean packaging and serviceability.
  • Source materials and suppliers; manage orders and logistics with partners to keep the build on schedule.
Are you...
  • Passionate about engineering, innovation, and sustainability?
  • Experienced in or eager to learn CAD design (SolidWorks, ANSYS)?
  • Analytical, precise, and solution-oriented?
  • Organized and comfortable working in a multidisciplinary environment?
  • Proactive and motivated to turn ideas into real-world results?
  • Ready to fully commit to an unforgettable, hands-on project experience?
